Auditions for Our Children’s Choirs in Munich
At an audition for our children’s choirs in Munich, children who enjoy singing can get to know our choir school personally. The audition is free and without obligation.
During the audition, we would like to get to know your child’s voice and musical abilities and find out together which of our choir groups best suits their age and musical development.
Previous musical experience is not required. What matters most is the joy of singing, an interest in music and the willingness to make music together with other children.
Getting to Know Your Child at the Audition
The audition is our first opportunity to meet your child personally. In a relaxed atmosphere, we listen to how they sing and do a few short musical exercises focusing on melody, rhythm and voice.
The aim is not to demonstrate that they can already do everything. Depending on their age and musical experience, we look at where your child currently stands and in which of our choir groups they can best continue their musical development.

Who Are We?
The Munich School of Choral Arts was founded in 2014 and provides children and young people with a comprehensive musical education centred around singing together.
In our choirs, children develop their voices, their musical ear and their ability to make music together with others. Ear training, rhythm, the fundamentals of music theory and conscious work on voice, breathing and articulation are directly integrated into the choir rehearsals.
Our aim is to support each child individually on their musical journey while also giving them the experience of being part of a shared musical whole.
Who Sings in Our Choirs?
More than 70 children and young people aged 4 to 17 sing in our three choir groups. The groups are structured according to age and musical development, allowing children to progress continuously from their first musical experiences to the demanding work of the Concert Choir.
Girls and boys sing together in our choirs. They learn not only to develop their own voices, but also to listen to one another, take responsibility for the overall choral sound and experience music as something created together.
How Do We Develop Musical Quality?
Musical quality develops step by step. Regular rehearsals, attentive listening and continuous work on voice, intonation, rhythm and musical expression form the foundation of our choral work.
Children learn not only to use their own voices with increasing confidence, but also to listen to other voices and take responsibility for the overall choral sound.
Concerts, opera productions, competitions and international projects give the children opportunities to further develop their musical abilities on stage and to grow together as a choir.
Our Concert Choir, “Voices of Munich”, has received multiple awards at national and international competitions and regularly collaborates with renowned cultural institutions.
What Happens at the Audition?
The audition takes about 30 minutes and takes place in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Its main purpose is to get to know your child personally and gain a first impression of their voice and musical abilities.
Your child can prepare one or two children’s songs or folk songs to sing. Afterwards, we do a few short exercises focusing on voice, melody and rhythm.
Previous musical training is not essential. We are much more interested in how your child listens, responds to musical impulses and uses their voice.
Afterwards, we discuss with you which of our choir groups best suits your child’s age and stage of musical development and what a possible start with us could look like.
