Young Children’s Choir in Munich
In the Young Children’s Choir of the Munich School of Choral Arts, children aged 4 to 6 discover their voices and the world of music in a playful and age-appropriate way.
Through singing together, musical games and movement, the children develop their musical ear, sense of rhythm and an initial awareness of their own voices.
They learn to recognise melodies and rhythms, listen to one another and experience music together with other children.
The Young Children’s Choir is the first stage of our choral education and gently prepares children for their future musical development in the Junior Children’s Choir.
Discovering Music Through Play
Through songs, musical games and movement, children experience music directly and discover the joy of singing together.
Developing Musical Ear and Rhythm
Children learn to recognise and reproduce melodies and rhythms and begin to understand basic musical patterns.
Discovering Their Own Voice
Through age-appropriate vocal exercises, children discover their own voices and develop a natural and conscious approach to singing.
Musical Training in the Young Children’s Choir
The Young Children’s Choir is the first stage of our choral education. Children aged 4 to 6 gain their first experiences with their voices, with music and with singing together.
The focus is on a playful and age-appropriate approach to music. Through songs, movement and musical exercises, children develop their musical ear and sense of rhythm and learn to recognise melodies and musical structures more consciously.
At the same time, they discover the possibilities of their own voices. First exercises in breathing, articulation and vocal sound are playfully integrated into singing together, without placing excessive demands on the natural development of the child’s voice.
Making music together also plays an important role from the very beginning. Children learn to listen to one another, respond to musical impulses and experience themselves as part of a group.
Step by step, this creates a musical foundation that the children can continue to build on later in the Junior Children’s Choir.
Rehearsals of the Young Children’s Choir take place on Wednesdays from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.
